DALINA GONZALES

My name is Dalina Gonzales and I have been at City College of San Francisco since Fall of 2016. I am a full-time student and currently not working. After I receive my Associates Degree, I will go to San Francisco State University to further my education. I am a mother of two sons Ahjae 19 and Noah 5 years of age. I also care for my brother Davario, 25 years old. I unexpectedly lost my parents in 2008, 5 months apart from each other, and I started to spiral out of control. Through all of this, I know that these boys have seen the challenges that I have faced and the challenges I have overcome. I am a recovering addict and 6 ½ years clean. They have seen me at my worst but now they see me thriving and showing how we can be resilient no matter what we go through. I must say that God has put a lot of people in my life to help guide me along the way. Since I started CCSF and met with my EOPS counselor to make an ed plan, that is what I have stuck to and now I am so close to being done. I am so grateful for all the help that they have given me and to be honest I could not imagine trying to figure things out without them. This scholarship would help me tremendously with life expenses to help me focus on my education.
