Iveth Lopez Obeso is a Graduate Equity Fellow at San Francisco State University, where she is earning her Master of Science specializing in college and career counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2020 after transferring from Folsom Lake College with an Associate's Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences.

In addition to her studies, Iveth is a counseling intern at Skyline Community College with the Counseling Department and works with San Francisco's Unified School District as a College Ambassador to increase college access matriculation and success for the district's most underserved students. In the past two years, Iveth has co-founded the First-Generation Counseling Graduate Association, mentored incoming graduate students, and presented at the National Career Development Association Conference in Chicago, IL.

Upon graduation, Iveth plans to continue supporting a diverse group of community college students (specifically first-generation, non-traditional, and parenting students) and follow in the footsteps of her community college counselors who always believed in her. Iveth's academic and professional passion and drive stem from her experience as an immigrant and first-generation college student. She hopes to continue breaking glass ceilings and opening doors for others as she transforms the American educational system.
