Workshops: Call for Proposal

Excellence at our conference is co-created. Your voice, your insights, and your breakthrough strategies directly build the foundation for our collective growth. You have pioneered the strategies; now, pay it forward. Invest in your current and future professional colleagues by unveiling your best practices on our stage. This is a critical moment for EOPS. We need your unique solutions to help navigate new challenges and transform outcomes.

Introduction:

  • The California Community College Extended Opportunity Programs and Services Association invites EOPS professionals, administrators, faculty, classified professionals, counselors, students, community partners, and equity-minded leaders to submit proposals for the 57th Annual CCCEOPSA Conference.

  • This year’s conference theme, EOPS Strong: Power in Unity, calls us to honor the enduring legacy of EOPS while advancing collective action for the students, families, and communities we serve.

  • At the core of each conference strand is our shared commitment to Strengthening the EOPS Legacy.

  • This call for proposals invites sessions that move beyond discussion alone and toward meaningful strategies, promising practices, and courageous conversations that strengthen student success, equity, belonging, wellness, and economic mobility.

We Seek Dynamic Proposals That:

  • Align with the conference theme in one or more of the four strands.

  • Center the lived experiences, strengths, and aspirations of EOPS students.

  • Offer practical tools, models, or frameworks that can be adapted across colleges and regions.

  • Inspire collaboration, reflection, and action.

  • Elevate the collective power of EOPS as a statewide movement for equity and opportunity.

Proposal Timeline:

  • Proposals Due: August 23, 2026

  • Proposal Notifications Sent: Monday, August 31 2026

  • Presenter Confirmations Due: Monday, September 7, 2026

Call for Proposals
Section 1: Presenter Information

First and Last Name

How do we say your name? If your name is frequently mispronounced, please write it out phonetically so our emcees get it exactly right on stage. (e.g., Raul Gonzalez = rah-OOL gon-ZAH-les, or Alicia = ah-LEE-shah).

You MUST enter the names and emails of ALL co-presenters here (including Job Title/Role and college name if different) in the order in which you wish them to appear in the conference program.

Section 2: Session Logistics & Format

Enter the title of your session. Strong titles will clearly identify what your session is about while considering what might make your session unique or distinct. Maximum 100 characters.

Section 3: Conference Strands & Topics
Conference Strand Selection
Strand 1: Economic Mobility — Degree to Employment Readiness: Explores how EOPS can strengthen pathways that connect academic progress, degree completion, transfer, career exploration, workforce preparation, and long-term economic mobility.
Strand 2: Somatic Wellness and Institutional Healing: Centers wellness, belonging, and healing as essential components of student success and professional sustainability.
Strand 3: Data Reveals Impact: Invites proposals that use data, storytelling, assessment, and outcomes to affirm the value and impact of EOPS.
Strand 4: AI-Augmented Professional — Reclaiming the Human Connection: Examines how technology can responsibly reduce administrative burden, strengthen communication, and expand student access while preserving human relationships.
Roundtable Discussion: Focuses on systemic challenges, operational compliance, and emerging administrative opportunities.

Please select the primary strand that aligns with your proposal. 

Section 4: Proposal Content

The abstract will serve as the public description of your session in the online conference program. This should be written for a general audience and address what prospective attendees should know about your session. Maximum 250 characters.

Prompt: "After participating in this session, attendees will be able to..."

To accompany your abstract, list 1-3 learning objectives for your session. Learning objectives describe the key takeaways participants will have after participating in the session. Maximum of 500 characters.

Briefly describe how your session explicitly aligns with "EOPS Strong: Power in Unity" and how it provides practical tools, models, or frameworks that can be adapted across colleges and regions.
