EOPS and CARE Statewide Technical Assistance Training 2012

Co-presented by the State Chancellor’s Office and CCCEOPS Association

Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, 2012

The two-day training is available to all campus EOPS and CARE program staff.  The Chancellor’s Office will be reimbursing each participating EOPS and CARE staff person up to $100 for either hotel lodging or travel costs.  Please see the cover letter below for details about this year’s training.

Registration Information

A nominal registration fee is being charged by the CCCEOPSA for Day 1 of the training:

$125 for CCCEOPSA members*
$150 for non-CCCEOPSA members

There is no charge to attend Day 2 of the training.  One registration form is being used to register for either/both days of the training.  Please complete your registration using one of the methods below:

*You are considered a CCCEOPSA member if you attended the Spring 2011 Technical Training or Fall 2011 CCCEOPSA Conference, or you mailed your membership fee payment of $25 to the EOPSA by December 31, 2011.

EOPS program’s primary goal is to encourage the enrollment, retention and transfer of students handicapped by language, social, economic and educational disadvantages, and to facilitate the successful completion of their goals and objectives in college. EOPS offers academic and support counseling, financial aid and other support services.

 

Vacancy 2 The purpose of the California Community College EOPS Association is as follows::

(a) To act as the base of a communications network among EOPS staff, students, statutory advisory committee, the Chancellor’s office staff and other groups that serve EOPS students in community colleges;

(b) To communicate the needs of the EOPS program and students to community college administrators, the Chancellor and the State Legislature;

(c) To assist in implementing statewide policies, programs and regulations in relation to the unique needs of each of the community colleges in California; and

(d) To encourage and participate in the development of additional programs on the local, state and national level which will assist disadvantaged students in their quest for an education.
